Cultural Center

The Cultural Center : In the center of Port-au-prince, a unique access to learning and reading, but also a meeting space for debate, leisure and discovery.The center comprises a public library, with a membership of over 5000, a small auditorium, a café and cybercafé, a video and sound studio, meeting and exhibit spaces. Accessible to all, it is today a favored place for children and youths from the underprivileged neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince.

The Fokal-Unesco Hall: A small auditorium used for conferences, debates, meetings, projections, concerts and theatre. This facility has a seating capacity of 130 and is furnished with state of the art lighting, sound and audio-visual equipment, including recording and simultaneous translation equipment.

The gardens: These are multi-purpose spaces for Environmental Awareness, exhibits, workshops and outdoor events. The Cultural Center has a large parking aussi of 40 and Canon used for open air concerts, fairs and exhibits. Also a lobby designed by The Architect Frederic Mangones Located in the Garden and reservations for workshops, training, rehearsals and meetings.

The Cybercafé : It was conceived for the members of the Library Monique Calixte. It is equipped with fifteen computers, printers, and staffed for friendly assistance and training. Fees : Internet 5 gourdes/15 min. Printing Black and White 5 gourdes/page. Printing color 15 gourdes/page. Scanning 5 gourdes/page.

The Monique Calixte Library (MCL): The library Offers to Youth From The difficulty urban environment of Port-au-Prince has a chance to discover books, magazines and CD's and to read in pleasant surroundings. Special activities are Provided To The Very Young (reading corner, story-hour, theater and art workshops), and all members enjoy meetings Cdn With writers, Public Readings, exhibits and workshops.
